Here is a guided Root Chakra Meditation. It will help you to focus on the Root Chakra and bring it into balance.

As with any meditation, preparation is essential – A few tips on Meditation Basics.

Feel free to learn and use this meditation, or use the free pre-recorded version.  The recording lasts for 20 minutes.  The guided part of the Root Chakra Meditation lasts for approximately eight minutes.  The remainder of the recording is relaxing meditation music.  You can, if you wish, end the Root Chakra Meditation at the end of the guided portion, or for the remainder of the session adopt the Root Chakra hand position and chant the mantra – Instructions for How to Open Your Chakras and Chakra Balancing.

Guided Meditation Preparation:

  • Close your eyes and inhale deeply. Hold the breath for 3-4 seconds and exhale slowly.
  • Keep doing this for 5 or 6 times then allow the breath to follow a comfortable, relaxed rhythm.
  • Continue your easy breathing rhythm for a while and become more and more relaxed and peaceful.
  • Move your attention to your scalp – feel it relax.
  • Move your attention to your neck and shoulders – feel the tension disappear, allow your shoulders to drop.
  • Move your attention to your back and spine – feel the tension leaving your body.
  • Move your attention to your legs – they feel relaxed and comfortable.
  • Move your attention to your – feel them become relaxed.
  • Your entire mind and body feel warm and relaxed.

Meditation Script:

Focus your attention on the base of the spine, the location of the Root Chakra – Imagine that it is a ruby red crystal, emitting a warm red and comforting glow.

You sit cross-legged on solid bedrock. Take a few minutes to get used to this feeling of support then stand up and look around.

In the distance, you see an immense and solid mountain. It reaches up into the sky and covers the entire horizon. The view of the mountain is entirely overwhelming, but there is a flicker of a red glow from the solid mass ahead. This calms your nerves and draws you closer and closer to the mountain.

As you approach, the red glow becomes more distinct until you see the outline of what appears to be a structure within the rock.

Now you see that part of the mountain has been fashioned into a castle.

This incredible site should scare you, but there is a feeling of power and security coming from the castle – your Root Chakra senses this and moves you forwards toward the castle, almost as if it is being drawn by a magnet.

At the castle’s gate, you look up – the windows emit the same safe red glow that emanates from your Root Chakra. You know that you must enter. The gate opens, and you walk slowly into the castle feeling more and more grounded with each step. Your Root Chakra resonates with the castle rock and you feel at one with the rock and the earth. The rock protects you, the stone floor supports you, and the energy envelops you.

You have the right to be here; it is your home and the solid base for your life – from these foundations you will build a meaningful and secure life.

As your Root Chakra spins, it draws in red glowing energy from the rocks, the mountain, and planet Earth.

Allow your Root Chakra to become stronger. This place is your home, come here often to reconnect with the Earth.
